ES Listserves Info
Policy:
ESs are added to 2
school listserves when selected as an ES
Candidate. You must use your school
assigned email address for the school listserve, not
a personal email address. All ESs need to be on 2 school listserves,
and must not delete their listserve membership while
employed by the school:
1. ES Listserve to receive
ES info by school.
2. School & Parent listserve to see the information being given to your
parents and to be able to pass info on to your parents without access to the listserve. Please
encourage all of your families to participate in their school listserve!
Procedure to set up your account to log
into the listserve:
The IEM office will automatically
enroll all ESs on both of these listserves.**
You will receive an
e-mail...please don't think that it is an advertisement and ask to be removed
from the listserve. You will not need to respond. Once enrolled, you may go to
the yahoogroups website and specify preferences as
directed below.
The listserve holds all sent messages forever
so they can be accessed again and again as needed. To be albe
to use this feature of the listserve, each ES must
set up an account with Yahoo Groups. This is outside of our school control and
we cannot help with nor can we change any of the group features.
·
To log into
the listserve options available on the website, Go to http://yahoogroups.com.
·
Click on “new
users ‘click here to register’”
·
Sign up using
a user name of your preference. (Hint: You may have to try four or five user
names before you find one that someone else hasn’t chosen already, so make it
unique and also something that you wouldn’t be embarrassed for someone else to
see in print… )
·
Create a
password you will remember.
·
Be sure to
remove the check mark in the “send me special offers, promotions, etc” (unless
you want them too!)
·
After
submitting the information, make sure that you go to the section that says, “click here to edit your marketing preferences” and mark as
desired… be careful to do this step or you may be inundated with
advertising!
·
If you already
have a Yahoo account, just go into your preferences and an an
alternate email addres (your iem
email address) and you should then be able to see your school groups.
Accessing the listserve
after creating an account:
In Yahoo “My Groups”, click on the listserve
from the list of your groups that you wish to access.
