IEM Employment Information Sheet for 2011
School Year
At Will Employment:
Unless
an ES has submitted a resignation letter to ES Support and Personnel, after
signing your school's "At-Will Employment Agreement For Education
Specialists", OGCS/SSCS administration will assume you have not chosen to
voluntarily terminate your “at will” employment with the charter school, and
will serve the students assigned to you for the following school year. By
continuing to serve students as an Education Specialist with this charter
school, an ES indicates that they have agreed to and will abide by the
information in all of the following documents, plus any additional information
given to you during the school year by school administration.
All
ES employment is considered “at will” employment. “At-will” employment may be
terminated with or without cause and with or
without notice at any time by the employee or the school. No employee of
this school has any authority to enter into an agreement for employment for any
specified period of time or to make an agreement for employment on other than
“at-will” terms.
Please review these documents and the Employee Handbook provided to you by mail (contact the Personnel office if you do not have an Employee Handbook) that relate to your 2011 employment with this charter school. School directors reserve the right to add to, modify, or amend these documents at any time (except for the "at will" section).

Eligibility:
Education Specialists become
eligible for enrollment in healthcare insurance upon the date they have their
13th student become “active” with them, as measured each month on the payroll snapshot
date. An ES who wishes to wait for full school benefit coverage may wait to
begin enrollment when their 22nd student is activated. If you do not enroll at
one of these 2 points, then you can only enroll for benefits during the yearly
open enrollment period. Coverage may begin on the first day of the following
month. Pay close attention to the information mailed to you by the personnel
office for specifics.

guaranteed by the school.)
Assignment
of Students:
Students
are assigned to cleared and trained Education Specialists by seniority and
according to the selections made on the ES Preference Sheet during the initial
interview. Changes to the initial ES Preference selections must be approved by
the ES Support Director. We do our best to accommodate the ES’s desired student
count within our school guidelines, although this is not always possible and no
promises are made or can ever be made as to the number of students you will be
assigned. Sometimes ESs are assigned students outside of their preference
areas. We expect the assigned ES to
serve that student until another ES can be located. Full-time ESs are limited
to 25 students maximum. ESs with other
jobs outside of IEM schools are limited to 12 students maximum. Additional
information about Student assignments is located on our webpage at: http://www.sscs.cc/handbook/studentenrollment/inistuasspol.htm .
