SSCS ROP PROGRAM
ROP Coordinator
Dennis Fuller, dfuller@ieminc.org

HAVE QUESTIONS? NEED HAND-HOLDING ENROLLING? The role of the ROP Coordinator is to inform ESs and parents about ROP opportunities, and help them with the enrollment process and answer their enrollment questions. The coordinator also interfaces with ROP and SSCS throughout the school year. Students taking ROP Courses must also be signed up for the ROP Administration CP Course for Sacramento County or Placer County. This CP cost is $36 per course per semester.

A Message From Dennis:
"In keeping with SSCS’s overall commitment to our students, it is extremely important that we become aware of the many programs/opportunities available today.  Many have heard the term “ROP” but may not be fully aware of the potential “upside” to participation in these programs.

Regional Occupational Programs (ROP) are offered throughout Sacramento County and Placer County.  They provide great opportunities for our students to acquire vocational/occupational experience/training.  In many cases, industry “looks to” ROP participants/graduates for potential job opportunities." (See also "Reminder" and "Please Note" at the bottom of this page).

REMINDER:
ES’s receive specific ROP information at the “All ES Meeting” at the beginning of the school year.  The September ES Agenda 2008 identifies various required procedures for student participation in ROP (also listed are ES responsibilities).  Please review this information.

PLEASE NOTE:
Some listed websites may be in “update/modification” stages.  Please check back periodically for the latest information.

Also note that some courses have pre-requisites and many fill up fast (first come, first served).  Even though adults may register for courses, high school students have priority.  Also……keep in mind that a particular course may not start concurrently with our semester timeframes, so encourage your students to enroll early (i.e.: register now for fall classes).  Again …..due to the popularity of some courses, there are no guarantees for enrollment; so…have your students try again in the future.

Course/program offerings are subject to change with little or no notice (based on funding, participation, instructional resources, etc.).  Once a program begins, however, it is likely to be completed.
