Welcome to the South Sutter Charter School web site. The SSCS charter has been approved by the Marcum-Illinois Union Elementary District in Sutter County, California. South Sutter Charter School is an independent study charter school that is a separate school from the district's longstanding Marcum Illinois Elementary School. SSCS will be managed by Innovative Education Management, a nonprofit public benefit education corporation who has managed a number of public charter schools in California since 1993. SSCS opened for Fall 2006 and serves California students who reside in a seven-county area including Sutter, Butte, Colusa, Placer, Sacramento, Yolo, and Yuba counties.
